Graduating (in practice, darn it!)
Sep. 15th, 2006 02:28 pmA year ago last week I posted an LJ entry stating that I was on the February degree list, and graduating "in theory". I knew it was a stretch goal, but thought that it was a good start.
Obviously, I had miscalculated just how much I was stretching.
Anyway, at my committee meeting today we discussed: An early December defense date. A mid-November mini-defense. Turning in draft chapters (2 next week, one in two weeks, and the conclusion chapter by mid-October). So... this time, for real. Darn it.
I do have order one hundred pages of written material already, so I believe that this is eminently doable. But forgive me if I act at all erratically in the next couple of months, as my productivity waxes and wanes and I oscillate between desperately needing socialization and totally ignoring everyone to concentrate on writing. (And thank you to my various writing companions for our productive study halls!)

Cheering from the sidelines
Date: 2006-09-15 07:16 pm (UTC)I know it's a long slog but you have what it takes to successfully cross that finish line!
And I'd also observe that your version of "erratic" looks a lot like many people's "everyday," so I'm thinking forgiveness is rarely necessary.
Can't wait for your December graduation. . . !
