I've gone to actual movie theatre thrice in the last month... which, I think might be more times I've gone than in the entire past year (Milk and Star Trek are all that come to mind). I'd recommend all 3 movies, though with different caveats:

It Might Get Loud: Traces the electric guitar through interviews with famous guitarists from Led Zeppelin, U2, and White Strips. Even though the genre of music is not typically the top of my playlist, and I probably could have benefited from more knowledge of the musicians' bodies of work, I thought it was a great movie, with a great soundtrack (of course).

In the Loop: I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats. Well, I laughed, anyway. A lot. But I left the movie a little depressed (read any blurb about the movie, and you can probably guess why). It also had some good insights into Washington DC - the meeting at the State Department with the young 'un rang depressingly true - my one meeting in that building (last Fall) was run by a political who looked rather younger than me, even though most of the career bureaucrats attending the meeting were rather senior (I was perhaps the 2nd youngest person in the room after the political). A lot of the government here is actually run by people in their early 20s, because they're the only ones willing to take jobs with low salaries, bad hours, no job security (after all, your whole office can turn over at any election), and no recognition, either hoping for good networking contacts or because they want to make the world a better place. Warning: the language does get a bit over the top. But anything is better with a British accent.

District 9: I quite enjoyed the movie, but thought the gore was rather excessive. And I kind of wish that the socio-psychological factors introduced in the beginning of the movie had been explored more, rather than making it a more typical action flick.
