One car for sale! One spying and crying young car for sale... er. I mean, one 1994 Ford Escort, ~68,000 miles, $1000.

I'm switching to ZipCar while I'm in DC, and therefore want to sell my car before leaving Boston. Er, August 31st, to be precise, since there are things I want to do with the car before heading off. So, here are the details on my trusty Ford Escort, which I've had since 1996 and has served me quite well, and I would think has another couple of years left in it. So, let me know if you are interested, and feel free to point people at this post.

1994 Ford Escort LX 2 Door Hatchback Automatic Transmission ~68,000 miles
Asking Price: $1000
Blue Book Resale Value: ~$1300 to $1700 (Fair to Good condition)
Color: Red
Recent Work:
Muffler/Pipe replacement (June 2008)
Battery + Tire replacement (Dec 2007)
Brake pads/springs+struts/shock absorber/60,000 mile tune-up (August 2006)
Front Bumper replaced (January 2005)
Heating Coil replacement (2004?)

Known issues:
Rear defroster doesn’t work
Cigarette lighter doesn't work
Windshield wipers could probably use replacement
A little visible rust on top of the car, possibly more rust underneath (though hopefully replacing the whole muffler structure will have dealt with the worst of that), two or three small dents scattered about.

Features:
AM/FM Stereo + Cassette Player (and I’ll throw in a cassette -> ipod converter if you want it. And a small shovel + ice scraper/brush if you want those)
Air conditioning
Power Steering
As a hatchback, it has a surprising ability to carry stuff (more than you would expect of a small car)
Spoiler (why a _Ford Escort_ needs a spoiler, who knows)
(note: no power windows or power locks, if you are used to those)

Mileage: I have exceeded 30 mpg under ideal driving conditions, but more usually I get around 25 or 26 mpg.

I do not think you mean that you will have had replaced the battery in December 2008.
