Despite having a long and fulfilling relationship with science fiction and fantasy, of book, games, movie, and TV forms, I have never been to a science fiction convention. I had planned to remedy that this year by going to Arisia, which is, after all, just around the corner. Sadly, between not having finished my thesis, having my mom in town, having a friend visiting, and wanting to go to bcmfest, I realize that I am unlikely to be able to make it to any worthwhile chunk of convention. (edit) Therefore, Visage is going in my place. (end edit)

And maybe next year I'll get to go.

Well, I thought I registered for Arisia last month, but I have no confirmation mail from them and haven't gotten a reply to my query about whether they have me as registered, so I'm guessing that I'm not registered and thus would be happy to take your registration.

If you lack any of the required information for me, let me know. =)

OK, you're going to a con, the foundations of the universe are shaken. :P :)

No! His job is to be a fluffy bunny! Why does no one understand? :) :)

Well, it's his job in that way that being an Evil God isn't. :)

If I had gone to Arisia, would that have shaken any of your foundations? Or has Visage been more public about his never having been to a con before?

That would probably also have shaken some foundations, but you already have a tendancy to do random stuff and I don't have as much data on the opinions of your formative youth. :)

why not go to Boskone instead? i'm actually rather more fond of it than Arisia -- more literary (though not as much so as Readercon in July) and low-key than Arisia, though perhaps less of a whole con experience for that reason. but nice!

Hey! And Guy Consolmagno will be there! He's a former Skinner!

It is certainly worth consideration...

I'll go to any number of gaming-related cons. But if I ever attend an SF con, I'm a dead man. My old officemates will hunt me down and shoot me dead.

They're under strict instructions.
