In dedication to those people who have kindly listened to me stress about my committee meeting I do the

To sum up my last 48 hours: I was mighty and efficient at work yesterday, slaying bugs and preparing powerpoint presentations, such that I could justify rewarding myself with an hour of contra dancing, and found that as a bonus the band was Wild Asparagus who are both inherently great and who draw a lot of good dancers (there was at least one all the way from Michigan who was here for the whole Memorial Day contra dance extravanganza. I wish I could justify going to the dawn dance...)

Then today I watched my friend and her unborn twins work their way through a second breakfast of spinach croissant and yogurt cup (first breakfast was apparently eggs and toast, and there were plans for at least one more breakfast before lunchtime)

And finally, I had a committee meeting in which my proposals were deemed "sufficient" and "realistic". There was a desire for a little more "focus" which was achieved mainly through telling me to delay one or two things until my postdoc (one of which is a neat little project that I'm sort of sad about delaying, but I suppose I'll survive). And it looks like everyone agrees that I'm on track to defending this fall!

All in all, a good start for the weekend! As soon as I finish writing up my thoughts from the meeting. Of course, now that I'm excited about my work again, I probably won't take much of a weekend, but that's fine. Probably a good thing for the whole getting done concept...
