Asian Airport Security + Contagious Diseases

I had dinner with my dad tonight (he of the insane travel schedule) and he mentioned that in some asian airports, they've added a new security routine: they make you take off your hat while passing through a thermal imager. He eventually realized that they are looking for elevated temperatures that are indicative of SARS...

I wonder if that contagious disease testing for travelers will become more widespread eventually...

I heard on (some NPR show) last week that there is talk of making quarantine spaces at some major west coast airports...

Huh, my dad's just back from China, and didn't mention anything like that when I talked to him last night. On the other hand, we didn't really talk for long, as he was tired and heading to bed.

Well, it was either Japan or Taiwan where my dad saw the thermal imager being used.
