Of Friends, Frogs, Skirts, and Old Laptops

A good friend of mine is moving to England, and it is always sad when friends move far away. But it will give me another excuse to visit Europe, which is always good. In any case, I volunteered my car to help her move some things, and in return she picked out a couple of her belongings which she felt would make a nice present to me.

And, in addition to the giant fluorescent stuffed frog and a couple other random items, she included, somewhat hesitantly, a contra skirt! This has totally made my day, and I can't wait to try it out on the dance floor!

She also dumped two ancient laptops on me on the theory that I was better placed to know where to donate them to: a powerbook 1400cs/333 and a thinkpad 600e. If anyone wants them, let me know, they are supposedly still both functional. Otherwise I'll post them to reuse, unless there is a more obvious home for them?

Probably not until after I finish my thesis. But definitely sometime next year, I have a lot of family and friends I haven't seen in a while.
