Neil Gaiman Rocks
Sep. 27th, 2008 04:35 pmThis morning I wandered down to the Mall for the National Book Festival, and listened to Neil Gaiman for half an hour in the Children and Teens tent. The man really does have the gift of gab (as well as the gift of writing, of course). This is the 3rd time I've heard him speak (I'm still very jealous of
coraline and her connections to Neil) and each time I come away feeling like I could happily just sit for hours listening to him talk about whatever strikes his fancy. Every question he's asked somehow generates an appropriate and fascinating anecdote.
Anyway, I'm now going to go back to my copy of The Graveyard Book. (Didn't get it signed: as Neil pointed out, he'll probably be sitting there signing until they dismantle the tent around him because that's what happened 3 years ago when he came to this festival, and I already spent long enough in line buying the book and have other things to do).
