Election Implications

Presuming that Webb eventually wins the Virginia Senate seat (which seems likely), what are the implications of this election on policy going to be?

What do other people think? What am I missing? Am I being overly optimistic? Should I stop thinking about this and go back to writing my thesis? (the answer to that last question is yes, so I will)
